Matthew 10:29-31
29Are not two sparrows sold for a penny[d]? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
The next time you see a bird, you might enjoy considering a few things about him. The Bible says that God knows who that bird is individually. If that is true, He is aware of every unique marking on him, the nuances of his voice, and if there is such a thing for birds, his unique personality traits. He knows his birthday. He remembers when he was a little baby bird in the nest, dependant upon his mother for the food he received. God recalls with pleasure the day he learned to sing and the day he learned to fly.
The next time you see a power line with literally thousands of birds perched on it, think about how God knows and cares for each one of those guys individually in this way. After that, consider that you are worth more to Him than many birds, and then think about how much value God must place on you as an individual and on your individual life.
