Colossians 1:21-22
21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight
The word that stands out to me in this passage today is "blameless". That is a feeling that is foreign to all of us, nobody has ever lived without carrying the constant burden of blame. I really like the thought of having this word apply to me. I like the idea of knowing that I will not only not carry the burden of blame for past sins, but that I will never need to be concerned about being blamed for future mistakes. All my decisions will someday be made based only on what is good and right, without any fear of false perception or blame from misunderstandings and without any mixed motives, intended or not, on my part. Someday, I will always do 100% of the things I am supposed to be doing and I will never do anything that I am not supposed to do.
And when you really think about how much blame and the attempt to avoid blame drives most people and most institutions, this is really a powerful promise all by itself.
