Proverbs 26:13
13 The lazy man says, “There is a lion in the road!
A fierce lion is in the streets!”
How often is anxiety a result of plain, simple, laziness? When we are called to perform a task that we would rather not do, out of conveninence we can be tempted to magnify the obstacles in our minds, in an attempt to legitimize our lack of action. Before we know it, we begin to accept these exaggerations as true. And if we make a habit of this, we look around and find ourselves feeling bored, anxious, and inept. We may think we feel this way because of our circumstances, but often it is really because at some point we have paralyzed ourselves with an attitude of laziness.
