Hebrews 11:8

8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Mr. Beaver: Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight. At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more. When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death. And when he shakes his mane, it will be spring again.
Lucy: Is he... safe?
Mr. Beaver: Safe? Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Of course he isn't safe... but... he's GOOD... He's the King.

We so often have false expectations of our lives in Christ. We become deceived to expect that to know Jesus means safety and security always, easy living, perfect peace at every corner. We hesitate to venture into situations that threaten these false expectations. And when we are forced into these situations we can become frustrated, discouraged and insecure. The problem with these ideas is that the Christian life was never meant to be safe, nor is it possible for it to be safe for very long. It would be good for some Christians to lower the priority that safety has in their existence because the craving for safety can replace the thrill and adventure that life was meant to be. We can become addicted to staying safe without even realizing it, and before we are aware, we can become like bored, unsatisfied robots. It is sometimes not until the thing we dread occurs that we wake up and begin to live again. This of course, is not about replacing safety with foolishness but rather with a defiant sense of adventure.
